During this time we created numerous minimalist productions of different classical plays, often renewing the same production of a play with multiple casts. These sometimes evolved from our artists in residence programs in schools, and sometimes served as the structural core of one to fifteen day residencies.

 

Beginning in 2001 we toured 6 or 7-actor productions of Shakespearean plays, with students from the schools participating in important roles alongside the professional actors.

 

At the height of this activity in 2006-2007 we toured Hamlet, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, reaching tens of thousands of Albertan students in over 100 schools from Pincher Creek to High Level.

From 2007-2014 we continued producing Shakespearean works that toured across Edmonton. During this time Theatre Prospero's Artist in Residency Program took off, providing over 25 schools with this program in those 6 years.
