Our Cancellation Policy

A school booking within one school year for a residency or tour date within the next school year may cancel any such engagement until June 30 of the first school year, provided notice of such cancellation is delivered by physical mail within the first school year.  One may cancel a booking under the following circumstances:

1) The school's budget, staffing or timetabling were incomplete as of April 1 of the first year, and was developed subsequently in such a way as to make the engagement unfeasible.

2) The school has engaged Theatre Prospero to perform between March 20 and June 30  in the first year, and decides after that engagement not to proceed with the engagement in the second year.

3) A medical condition or emergency, school closure, fire or other natural disaster or force, or major incident occurs which makes the engagement unfeasible.

Any school which cancels an engagement for any other reason before June 30 of the first school year shall forfeit their deposit if paid, and remain liable for it if they have not paid, unless otherwise arranged in writing with Theatre Prospero.

Any school which cancels an engagement between the first day of the school year which that engagement is in and the date 8 weeks before the beginning date of the tour of which that engagement is a part shall forfeit any deposit paid, and remain liable for 50% of the total fee, except under the following circumstances:

1) A medical condition or emergency, school closure, fire or other natural disaster or force, or major incident occurs which makes the engagement impossible.

2) Another arrangement is made in writing with Theatre Prospero which provides otherwise.

Any school which cancels an engagement 8 or fewer weeks before the beginning date of the tour of which that engagement is a part shall forfeit their deposit and remain liable for 100% of the total fee, except under the following circumstances:

1) A medical condition or emergency, school closure, fire or other natural disaster or force, or major incident occurs which makes the engagement unfeasible.

2) Another arrangement is made in writing with Theatre Prospero which provides otherwise.

Should a school need to change their booking date more than 4 weeks before the beginning date of the tour of which that engagement is a part, Theatre Prospero will make every reasonable effort to change their engagement date to a more suitable date. If however a change is made which requires Theatre Prospero to lengthen the tour, the school shall be be liable upon agreement for the additional costs associated thereto.

Any and all cancellations must be made by physical mail. The date of any cancellation shall be taken as the date of the postmark on the letter of cancellation.

Thanks!
