The Theatre Prospero website has been completely re-designed.  Soon you will be able to book our productions and pay your deposits online; meanwhile, you can see our online schedule as it is updated through the season, and receive regular updates on changes to the site.

We have also re-arranged all our information into three easy-to-navigate sections: information for everyone, information for those who want to book our productions, and a section devoted to documents and updates for those who have a performance booked now.

Upcoming Events

We will be touring A Midsummer Night's Dream and King Lear around Alberta this spring and what's more, we will also be performing these shows locally - call us to book!

Happening early this summer will be the Serca Festival of Irish Theatre.  This magnificent array of Irish works will run at the Avenue Theatre from 22-27 June 2010.

Grants for Schools

The Alberta Foundation for the Arts provides grants to schools on an annual basis.
Find out how to cut the cost of booking a Theatre Prospero production at your school.

Supplement 50% of your fee if your school is located in Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc, Calgary, Airdrie or Okotoks*.

Supplement  75% of your fee if your school is located anywhere else in Alberta*.

*GST must be paid on the entire fee, and cost reductions are based on AFA grant formulae. Only specified communities receive the funding mentioned above - please see our booking pages and grant documents for details.

Now Booking!

Oh my goodness, our 2010-11 season is going to be amazing!  We are offering Macbeth and The Tempest for next year's tour - these are some excellent plays, and we hope you'll have us come to your school and show your students how much fun Shakespeare can be!

N.B.: AFA Artists & Education grant application deadline for the 2010-2011 season: April 1, 2010.

We are also getting ready for our 2010 spring season:  A Midsummer Night's Dream and King Lear will be on offer, both locally and on tour, and we hope that you can be a part of it!
